CHARDONNAY_Weingut Strehn DeutschkreutzThis wine grows at the dizzying (for Burgenland) elevation of 300 metres, in a limestone soil that is ideal for Chardonnay. The grapes from these thirty year-old Burgundy-clone vines ripen on the sun-drenched southwestern slope. Fermentation is evenly divided between stainless steel and wooden cask. Impressions of honeydew melon, pineapple and dough; fine, creamy finish.
