This Welschriesling is grown primarily on old grapevines in a vineyard called Ried Tschiga. Legend has it that, in days of yore, the most marvellous vineyard-snails (Weinbergschnecken, a local culinary highlight) could be found here. And what is the Hungarian word for escargot? Exactly! Csiga. And this baroque & complex wine provides the perfect accompaniment to the dish – thus the circle comes to close: Schnecke – Csiga – Tschiga – Welschriesling.
